Position Details:
Med Surg RN- Scottsbluff NE
Location : Scottsbluff NE, 69361
Project Duration : 13 weeks
Pay range : $54-$57 an hour
Shift : Night Shift 6p – 6a
Job Summary:
The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med Surg RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and post-operative needs. The RN utilizes clinical expertise, critical thinking, and organizational skills to deliver safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately.
- Monitor vital signs, lab results, and patient responses to treatment.
- Assist with wound care, dressing changes, catheterization, and other bedside procedures.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, surgeries, and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and post-discharge care.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Maintain infection control and patient safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or Multi-state license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous Med Surg or acute care experience required.
