Job Summary
The CT Technologist (CT Tech) performs computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role ensures high-quality cross-sectional images while maintaining patient safety, radiation protection standards, and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare and position patients for CT scans, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Administer contrast media orally or intravenously as prescribed.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions to contrast and respond appropriately.
- Operate and maintain CT imaging equipment according to safety standards.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles.
- Verify patient identity and confirm exam details prior to procedures.
- Collaborate with radiologists to ensure optimal image quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR) and PACS systems.
- Maintain infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuing education initiatives.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program required.
- ARRT certification required.
- State licensure as applicable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Prior CT experience required.
