Patient Services Representative- Philadelphia, PA
Location : Philadelphia, PA 19118
Project Duration : 13 weeks
Pay range : $20- $21/ hr on W2 with limited benefits
Shift : Shift - AM (11:00 - 18:30) 5 X 8s - 40 hrs / Week
Job Description:
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative (PAR) plays a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience by performing front-line administrative and customer service functions. Responsibilities include patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, copay collection, and document management, all while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Register patients accurately and efficiently in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Schedule appointments and manage calendar updates for healthcare providers
- Verify insurance information and obtain necessary preauthorizations
- Collect copayments and outstanding balances at the time of service
- Scan and upload required documents into the EMR
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, vendors, and clinical staff
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Perform general clerical duties to support daily department operations
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with EMR systems (preferred)
- Prior experience in a healthcare or customer service setting is a plus
