RN- Labor and Delivery- Scottsbluff, NE
Location : Scottsbluff, NE 69361
Project Duration : 13 weeks
Shift Timing : Nights 5:00p-5:00a
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse for the Labor & Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Labor & Delivery with a heavy NICU component and the ability to circulate during procedures. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, teamwork, and the ability to provide high-quality care to mothers and newborns in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.
- Circulate during Labor & Delivery and Cesarean section procedures, ensuring patient safety and adherence to sterile technique.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, anesthesia, NICU staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Assist with neonatal stabilization and transition, with a strong focus on NICU-related care and protocols.
- Monitor fetal heart tracings, maternal vital signs, and labor progression; intervene appropriately as clinical conditions change.
- Prepare and support patients and families before, during, and after delivery, providing education and emotional support.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, infection control practices, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Recent Labor & Delivery experience required.
- NICU experience required (heavy NICU focus).
- Circulating experience required.
- Current ACLS, NRP, and BLS certifications required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience scrubbing in for Cesarean sections.
- Pediatrics and/or additional NICU experience.
- Prior experience in high-acuity or high-volume Labor & Delivery units.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to function effectively in high-stress, fast-paced situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to patient-centered, family-focused care and safety
