Position Details:
Registered Nurse (RN)- Med Surg , Lawton, OK
Location                            : Lawton, OK 73505
Project Duration           : 13 weeks
Shift                                    : Night
 
Job Summary
The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical conditions and post-surgical needs. The RN utilizes strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills to deliver safe, evidence-based care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The RN collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal patient outcomes.
 
Essential functions and basic duties:             

• Perform comprehensive assessments and continuous monitoring of patient conditions.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately.
• Assist with wound care, catheterization, oxygen therapy, and other bedside procedures.
• Monitor and report patient progress, changes in condition, lab results, and clinical concerns.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, surgeries, or discharge planning.
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatments, and home care instructions.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EHR accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols in accordance with hospital standards.
• Manage multiple patients, prioritize tasks, and respond to changing clinical situations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and staff training.

 
Qualifications

• Education:
  • BSN preferred; ADN accepted.
• Licensure:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred (or required within 6 months).
• Experience:
  • 1 year of acute care or Med Surg experience.
