Transportation Technician III (TMC TechIII)- Knoxville TN
Location Knoxville,TN(Onsite)
Projec tDuration :6months(possible extension)
Shift Timing : Saturday & Sunday from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM | Monday from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM
Pay Rate : $18/hr. to $19/hr. on W2
Job Description:
Summary:
This role is an advanced-level technician position working in a traffic management control room environment. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring roadways through CCTV systems, managing traffic incidents, and coordinating with multiple agencies to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor live traffic using surveillance cameras and detection systems
• Manage and respond to traffic incidents (scheduled and unscheduled)
• Dispatch appropriate responders and coordinate with agencies
• Operate traffic management systems and related computer applications
• Track and monitor system performance and traffic devices
• Maintain knowledge of roadways, traffic systems, and equipment
• Communicate effectively with teams and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
• Customer service experience (highly preferred)
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, Outlook)
• Dispatch or call center experience (preferred)
