Position Summary:
The Nurse Manager – CVOR/Vascular provides administrative and clinical leadership for the Cardiovascular Operating Room and Vascular services. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, efficient patient care and supports the professional development of nursing and technical staff. The position includes on-call responsibilities and holiday obligations according to department guidelines.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Operations
• Shares 24-hour responsibility and accountability for all daily operational activities within the CVOR/Vascular unit.
• Assists in the overall administrative direction of nursing practice, promoting a safe, efficient, and patient-centered environment.
• Analyzes administrative and operational functions and implements system-wide improvements as needed.
• Develops strategies to enhance staff knowledge, performance, and unit integrity.
• Identifies future leaders and participates actively in succession planning.

 
Staff Management & Development

• Directly supervises nursing and technical personnel in the CVOR/Vascular area.
• Assesses staff proficiency, coordinates daily staffing, and manages scheduling needs.
• Conducts performance evaluations and provides counseling when needed.
• Functions as a professional role model, supporting staff development and aligning team performance with organizational goals.
• Participates in hiring, promotion, salary adjustments, and termination decisions.
• Mentors, guides, and supports staff at all levels to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

 
Clinical Oversight

• Ensures that nursing care meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Promotes evidence-based clinical practice and operational excellence.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

 
Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing required. (Master’s degree required within 5 years of hire if not currently held.)
• Current RN license required.
• Operating Room experience required (CVOR experience preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical and leadership experience.
• Current CNOR certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to manage complex clinical operations.
