Position Details:
ED RN- Portales, NM
Location                            : Portales, NM 88130
Project Duration           : Permanent Full Time
Shift Timing                    : Night (6p-6a)
 
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, dynamic, and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department (ED) team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment, handling a broad spectrum of acute and emergent medical conditions. This role requires critical thinking, rapid decision-making, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe, effective, and efficient nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Triage, assess, and monitor patients with a variety of acute illnesses and injuries.
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as ordered by physicians.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Respond to Code Blue and other emergency situations as required.
• Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, OSHA).

 
Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience (ED or critical care preferred).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS, TNCC, and ENPC preferred).
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
