Registered Nurse Operating Room- Denver, CO
Location : 1719 East 19 Avenue, Denver, CO 80218
Shift Timing : Days - Rotating Weekends
Project Duration : Fulltime / Permanent job + Offering excellent benefits
Shift Differential : On call - $4.00
Sign-On Bonus : $25,000
Relocation Assistance: $5,000 (over 75 miles from the facility)
Job Summary:

Position Details:
- Self/preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance for you to have predictability in your schedule
- Culture of mutual respect and collaboration among all surgical staff
- Continuous investment in equipment including surgical instruments, devices and patient positioning for you to do your best work with patient safety and workflow efficiency in the Operating Room
- Rounding with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure your voice is heard on suggestions for patient care and surgical workflow improvement
- On-call is required during select non-business hours
Job responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients prior to surgery
- Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
- Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification
- Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy
- Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team – consisting of the provider(s), surgeons, surgical technologists and more
- Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients
- Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly
- Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures
Job qualifications:
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
- One (1) year minimum experience in the perioperative (OR) setting is required.
- Will consider Surgery Center experience
- ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
- CNOR preferred.
- Please ensure candidates list Certification in Association of perioperative Registered Nurses or "completed OR orientation, training in all OR services for circulating and scrubbing" on their resumes to be considered.
- Circulating experience is required
Additional Information:
Various Shifts Available for 10 & 12 Hour Shifts
6:45 AM - 5:00 PM
7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
On Call Schedule: 10-12 Shifts in a 8 Week Period (Mixture of Weekdays & Weekends)
Candidate must reside 30 minutes from the facility for On-Call Shifts.
Level 4 Trauma Facility. High acuity cases with ICU attached to OR.
18 OR Suites (2 hybrid, 1 hybrid, 2 integrated spine navigation rooms to include the only brain lab robot in the US)
Service Lines: Complex Spine, Joint Revision, Limb Preservation, Ortho Oncology, Liver and Kidney Transplant, Neuroendocrine, High Risk OB, Reconstructive Plastics, Neuro, Trauma, General, GYN, Vascular, ENT, Dedicated Spine and Transplant
