Position Details:
ICU RN- St Johnsbury, VT
Location                           : St Johnsbury, VT 05819
Duration                          : 13 weeks
Shift                                    : Nights 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM
 
Job Description:
The ICU Registered Nurse provides specialized, high-acuity care to critically ill or unstable patients. The RN ICU monitors complex medical conditions, operates advanced life-support equipment, administers critical medications, and collaborates closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
 
Responsibilities :

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Continuously assess patient conditions and respond rapidly to changes
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, ventilators, and invasive lines
• Administer medications, IV drips, blood products, and treatments as prescribed
• Perform and assist with advanced procedures and life-saving interventions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic medical records
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare staff
• Educate and support patients and their families during critical situations
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices

 
Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific)
• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN or BSN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required or obtained within a specified timeframe
• Prior ICU or critical care experience preferred (new graduates may apply for ICU residency programs)
