Position Details:
HIM Director- Globe, AZ
Location : Globe, AZ 85501
Duration : 13 Weeks Contract
Salary Range : $60-$63/hr
Shift Timing : M-F.
Position Overview:
• CVRMC is seeking an experienced Interim HIM Director to oversee and lead Health Information Management operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, managing medical records and coding processes, maintaining data integrity, and providing leadership and support to HIM staff.
• The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, comprehensive HIM knowledge, and the ability to adapt quickly in a rural, fast-paced healthcare environment while remaining hands-on.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) department
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory standards (HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.)
• Manage medical records, documentation processes, and record retention policies
• Supervise coding, abstracting, and data integrity functions
• Lead and support HIM staff, including training and performance management
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of patient health records
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to improve documentation and workflow processes
• Monitor and improve HIM-related quality metrics and KPIs
• Prepare for audits, surveys, and regulatory reviews
• Implement best practices and process improvements within the department
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field (Master’s preferred)
• RHIA or RHIT certification required (preferred)
• Minimum 5+ years of HIM experience, with leadership experience required
• Experience in a hospital setting; Critical Access Hospital or rural healthcare experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of coding, compliance, and regulatory requirements
• Experience with EHR systems and health information technologies
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in an interim role

• Flexibility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
