Position Details:
ER Registered Nurse- Tuba City, AZ
Location                            : Tuba City, AZ
Project Duration           : 13 Weeks  
Pay range                         : $60- $65/ Hour  
Shift                                    : Flexible days/eves/nights & weekends
 
Job Description:

• The ER RN is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate, and rapid care to patients presenting with urgent or life-threatening conditions in the emergency department.
• This role involves quick decision-making, effective communication with a multidisciplinary team, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

 
Key Responsibilities / Duties

• Perform initial assessment of patients as they arrive in the ER to determine urgency and priority for care.
• Take patient history, record vital signs, and perform focused physical assessment.
• Continuously reassess patient condition and dynamically re-prioritize care based on changes.
• Emergency Interventions & Treatment
• Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments.
• Start and maintain IV lines; manage injections and infusions.
• Association of Air Medical Services
• Provide life-saving interventions: CPR, defibrillation, airway management, etc.
• Assist in emergency procedures (e.g., intubation, wound care, suturing).
• Continuously monitor and record vital signs, patient responses, and changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Document interventions, assessments, and outcomes per hospital protocols.
• Collaboration & Communication
• Work closely with physicians, specialists, other nurses, and allied health staff to develop and implement care plans.
• Participate in handovers and multidisciplinary rounds to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide emotional support, education, and instructions to patients and their families (e.g., on follow-up care).
• Association of Air Medical Services

 
Safety & Quality Assurance

• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-equipped working environment in the ER.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, emergency response drills, and compliance audits.
• Patient Education & Discharge Planning
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.
• Assist with discharge planning and ensure that patients understand home-care instructions.

 
Requirements:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within one (1) year of hire from American Heart Association
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within one (1) year of hire
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within one (1) year of hire
• National Institutes of Health (NIH) – NIHSS – NIH Stroke Scale must be completed (within 6 months of hire)
• Emergency Severity Index Level 5 within 3 months of hire and Patient Sitter Competency Training (upon hire
