Location                            : Lawton, OK 73505
Project Duration           : 13 weeks
Shift                                    : Nights 7P-7A
 
Job Summary:
The Medical-Surgical Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical conditions and those recovering from surgical procedures. The nurse utilizes critical thinking, clinical expertise, and compassionate care to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and document patients’ physical and emotional status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring safe and accurate delivery.
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and other nursing procedures.
• Monitor and manage post-operative patients, including pain control and recovery progression.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and home care.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies and standards.
• Promote patient safety and infection control practices.
• Support a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on quality care and continuous improvement.

 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (BSN/ADN).
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
• Prior experience in a medical-surgical or acute care setting preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to fast-paced environments.
