Medical Assistant- Fort Defiance, AZ
Location                            : Fort Defiance, AZ 86504
Project Duration           : 13 weeks
Shift Timing                    : 8-hour shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
 
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a busy Outpatient Surgery / ENT Clinic. The Medical Assistant will support physicians and clinical staff by performing both administrative and clinical duties to ensure efficient patient care and smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and experience assisting in ENT or surgical outpatient settings.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor procedures in the ENT clinic.
• Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, and document medical history.
• Perform clinical tasks including specimen collection, injections, and basic wound care as permitted by state regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the EMR system.
• Clean, sterilize, and prepare medical instruments and examination rooms.
• Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-ups, and referrals as needed.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and clinic policies.
• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the provider.

 
Requirements:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – must meet Medical Assistant requirements for the State of Arizona.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Previous experience in Outpatient Surgery or ENT clinic preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
