RN OR Circulator- Havre, MT
Location                            : Havre, MT 59501
Project Duration           : 13-week contract
Shift                                    : 8 Hour Shifts (rotating call)
Job Summary:
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Operating Room Supervisor, the OR Circulating Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the health, safety, and welfare of the patient before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR RN functions as a key member of the surgical team, coordinating patient care, ensuring aseptic technique, and anticipating the needs of surgeons and surgical staff throughout the procedure. This position requires clinical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care before, during, and after surgery.
• Verify patient identity, surgical procedure, and site in accordance with established safety and verification protocols.
• Prepare the operating room with appropriate equipment, instruments, and supplies for each case.
• Serve as a patient advocate throughout the perioperative process, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a sterile and aseptic field.
• Monitor the surgical environment and enforce infection control and safety policies.
• Manage and document all intraoperative nursing care and maintain accurate patient records.
• Communicate effectively with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and post-anesthesia care personnel regarding patient status.
• Anticipate and respond quickly to the needs of the surgical team and emergent situations.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, continuing education, and departmental meetings.

 
Qualifications
Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum one (1) year of recent Operating Room experience as a Circulating RN preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications:
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice — Required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification — Preferred
• CNOR certification — Preferred
