Position Details:
Retail Staff Pharmacist- Viroqua, WI
Location                            : Viroqua, WI 54665
Project Duration           : 12 Weeks
Shift                                    : Various shifts
 
Job Summary:
The Retail Staff Pharmacist provides accurate, safe, and efficient dispensing of medications while delivering high-quality patient counseling and customer service in a community retail pharmacy setting. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, supports daily pharmacy workflow, and promotes positive patient outcomes through clinical knowledge and medication management.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately dispense prescriptions in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, drug interactions, contraindications, and appropriate dosing.
• Provide patient counseling on medications, side effects, proper use, and health management.
• Administer vaccinations and immunizations as permitted by state law and certifications.
• Oversee and verify the work of pharmacy technicians and support staff.
• Maintain accurate patient profiles, records, and documentation in the pharmacy system.
• Assist with medication therapy management (MTM), adherence monitoring, and patient outreach.
• Ensure proper inventory management, including ordering, receiving, storage, and controlled substance handling.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment.
• Assist with insurance billing, prior authorizations, and troubleshooting claim issues.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve patient concerns professionally.
• Uphold all pharmacy laws, HIPAA guidelines, and company policies.

 
Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy).
• Licensure:
  • Must be licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of WI.
• Experience:
  • Retail pharmacy experience preferred
