Position Summary
The Surgical Technologist performs a wide variety of duties to assist the circulator and surgeon in the care of the surgical patient. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and sterile surgical environment at all times under the direction of qualified operating room personnel. The Surgical Technologist supports high-quality patient care while ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and healthcare policies. This position includes an on-call component.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists the circulator and surgeon before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Prepares and maintains a sterile field to ensure patient safety throughout the surgical procedure.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and provides appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensures adherence to aseptic technique and infection control standards at all times.
• Assists with room setup, patient positioning, and turnover of operating rooms as directed.
• Handles surgical instruments and supplies in accordance with established protocols.
• Participates in on-call rotation as required.
• Performs duties in compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and healthcare policies.
• Maintains professionalism and effective communication with the surgical team.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
