Location : Winchester, MA 01890
Project Duration : 13 Weeks / Contract
Shift Timing : 40 hours/week; DAYS; M-F 8:30A- 5:30P
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, performing nuclear imaging procedures, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout the process. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic imaging.
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures such as PET, SPECT, bone scans, thyroid scans, and cardiac stress tests.
- Operate gamma cameras, PET/CT scanners, and other nuclear imaging equipment.
- Ensure proper patient positioning and explain procedures clearly to patients.
- Monitor patients during and after procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all procedures performed.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide diagnostic information.
- Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment regularly.
- Manage radiopharmaceutical inventory and handle radioactive waste safely
- Performs diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures / Therapies on adult and geriatric patients on designated areas of the body as required by Authorized User.
- Types of diagnostic exams: Nuclear Medicine stress tests, Hida scans, Gastric emptying exams, Bone scans, Thyroid uptake & scan, Thyroid Therapy, Parathyroid exams, Mag 3 Renal scans, and Sentinel node scans.
- Successful graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
- ARRT or CNMT certification, MA state license required, and BLS.
