RN- Emergency Room

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides immediate, high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing acute illnesses or injuries. The RN performs rapid assessments, prioritizes care through triage, administers treatments, and collaborates with the healthcare team to stabilize and treat patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

• Perform rapid patient assessments and triage based on acuity levels.
• Provide emergency care for patients with acute conditions, trauma, or life-threatening illnesses.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and patient responses to treatment.
• Assist with emergency procedures such as intubation, wound care, and resuscitation.
• Respond to medical emergencies including cardiac arrests and trauma activations.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, procedures, or hospital admission.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Participate in ongoing training, certifications, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Education:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Licensure:
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or Multi-state license.
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred or required.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred.
• Experience:
  • Previous emergency room or critical care experience reuqired.
