Position Details:
CT Technologist (Allied) - Lawrence, MA
Location                            : 1 General St, Lawrence, MA 01841, United States, US
Project Duration           : 13 Weeks
Shift Timing                    : 11:30 am -12:00 am, including Saturday/Sunday rotation
 
Job Description:
1. CT Imaging Procedures

• Perform CT (Computed Tomography) scans based on physician orders.
• Operate CT equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic images of various body parts.
• Use proper protocols depending on the patient's condition, age, and exam type.

2. Patient Care & Safety

• Verify patient identity and ensure correct exam is performed.
• Explain procedures to patients, providing reassurance and answering questions.
• Position patients accurately to optimize image quality and minimize radiation exposure.
• Monitor patients during procedures for signs of discomfort or adverse reactions (especially when contrast is used).

3. Contrast Administration

• Start IV lines and administer contrast materials when required.
• Monitor for potential allergic reactions or complications from contrast media.

4. Radiation Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to minimize radiation exposure.
• Follow safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and functions within required safety standards.

5. Image Review & Documentation

• Review images for technical accuracy and completeness before sending them to a radiologist.
• Document all procedures, patient history, contrast use, and any observations in the patient's medical record or PACS system.

6. Collaboration & Communication

• Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist in coordinating patient schedules and workflow in the imaging department.

7. Quality Control & Equipment Maintenance

• Perform routine equipment checks and quality assurance tests.
• Report any malfunctions or irregularities to appropriate technical support or supervisors.

8. Emergency Preparedness

• Be prepared to assist in emergency scans (e.g., trauma, stroke, or code situations).
• Maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR.

If local (under 50-miles from facility) BR is $8 less Shift: :1130a-12a, including Saturday/Sunday rotation, please do not submit candidate if not interested in this shift Requires trauma experience and enough experience to make decisions independently, Siemens scanners (we only have Siemens CT scanners)Must have a minimum of 2yrs current full time employment in Ct working with Seimans scanners • Required Licensure: The CT Tech must be licensed by the ARRT. The Massachusetts license would be acquired AFTER a candidate has accepted a position. From what the previous travel techs have told me, they look for assignments about 6 weeks out so their agencies can obtain the needed license for that state. Each state has individualized standards, so they need to apply to each as needed. 36 hours: 2nd shift, 3 week rotating schedule:
