Position Details:
Pathologists' Assistant- Carbondale, IL
Location : Carbondale, IL 62901
Project Duration : 13 weeks
Pay range : $50-$52/Hr on W2
Shift Timing : Day Shift – 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Monday through Friday)
Job Summary
- Responsible for assisting with gross descriptions and dissection of surgical tissues; submits specimens for laboratory testing; summarizes patients’ medical history.
- Principal Accountabilities
- Standards of Performance:Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration, Stewardship, Accountability, Quality
Education
- Master’s degree in Health Science or Pathology
Licenses and Certification
- ASCP Certification
Experience and Skills
- Technical Experience: 1 yr in healthcare setting
Physical Activities
- Intermittent hand manipulation required
- Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 lbs
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Performs procedures within the specialty of the supervising physician
- Provides assistance with the gross description and dissection (examination) of surgical tissues.
- Submits specimens for histological and other laboratory testing.
- Summarizes patients’ medical history.
- Relates and functions effectively with the medical community, lab, and other hospital staff
