Central Sterile Reprocessing Technician- Morristown, VT
Location                            : Morristown, VT 05661
Project Duration          : 13 weeks

Job Summary:
The Central Sterile Reprocessing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role ensures all reusable medical devices are properly processed in accordance with infection control standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies to support safe and effective patient care.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and integrity; assemble instrument trays according to established count sheets
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (steam, low-temperature, and other sterilization methods)
• Ensure accurate documentation of sterilization loads and quality control records
• Follow infection control, OSHA, AAMI, and Joint Commission standards
• Maintain proper storage and distribution of sterile supplies
• Identify damaged or missing instruments and report to appropriate personnel
• Collaborate with Operating Room staff and other clinical departments to meet case needs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety guidelines, and confidentiality standards

 
Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and infection control practices
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move instrument trays as required
• Completion of a Central Sterile / Sterile Processing Technician training program
• Certification such as CRCST, CSPDT, or CBSPD (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe)
• Previous experience in a hospital or surgical center sterile processing department
