Pharmacy Technician- Havre, MT
Location                            : Havre, MT 59501
Project Duration           : 14 Weeks  
Shift                                    : Days 8 Hour
 
Job Summary

• The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, preparing prescriptions, and ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy operations in hospital, retail, or clinical settings.

 
Job Description:

• Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director and/or the pharmacist on duty, the pharmacy technician will provide adequate supportive assistance to enable the Pharmacist to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to patients/customers/residents in the most economical and professional manner
• Must be a MT Certified Pharmacy Tech and have Outpatient Pharmacy Experience!

 
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
• Accurately enter, update, and maintain patient medication records in the pharmacy system.
• Count, measure, mix, and label medications according to established standards.
• Manage medication inventory, including stocking shelves, tracking expiration dates, and placing orders as needed.
• Prepare unit-dose medications and medication carts for nursing units (hospital setting).
• Process insurance claims, prior authorizations, and handle billing inquiries.
• Assist customers with prescription pick-up, OTC recommendations (non-clinical), and general pharmacy questions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy work environment following state and federal regulations.
• Operate automated dispensing machines and other pharmacy technology systems.
• Support controlled-substance handling procedures under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

 
Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred or required depending on state regulations.
