Location : Hermiston, OR 97838
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : 06:30 AM - 17:00 PM
Job Description:
The Operating Room Technician assists the surgical team in providing safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR Tech is responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and supporting surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers throughout surgical cases.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
- Perform counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps in collaboration with nursing staff.
- Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms between cases.
- Properly handle, label, and transport specimens according to policy.
- Ensure surgical equipment is functioning properly and report malfunctions.
- Assist with patient positioning and transport as directed.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety regulations, and HIPAA requirements.
Requirements :
- Applicants should have three or more years of OR Tech experience.
- Ability to come in and work with minimal direction or supervision.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is required.
