Job Summary:
The Med/Surg Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions and post-surgical needs. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Monitor and document patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Provide wound care, IV therapy, and post-operative care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and healthcare team members
- Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred)
- Minimum 12 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
