RN-OR-Circular- Fort Defiance, AZ
Location                            : Fort Defiance, AZ 86504
Project Duration          : 13 weeks
Shift Timing                    : M-F 07:30-16:00
 
Job Summary:
The OR Circulator RN is responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, and patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. The RN Circulator works collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and smooth workflow in the OR.
 
Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive circulating nursing care during surgical procedures in accordance with established standards and protocols.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments, verify patient identity, review surgical consents, and ensure all required documentation is complete.
• Maintain a sterile and safe environment by adhering to infection control and surgical asepsis standards.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to ensure appropriate equipment, supplies, and instrumentation are available.
• Monitor the patient’s physiological status throughout the procedure and respond promptly to changes.
• Document intraoperative care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort at all stages of the perioperative process.
• Participate in department competency, quality initiatives, and ongoing performance improvement.
• Provide support during emergencies and respond effectively to urgent intraoperative situations.
• Participate in the on-call rotation as assigned.

 
Experience Requirements:

• Minimum two (2) years of recent Operating Room experience.
• Must have circulator experience specific to the OR role being applied for.
• Additional experience may be required depending on the surgical specialties supported.

 
Required Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association
