Position Details:
Ultrasound Tech- Albany, OR
Location                            :  Albany, OR 97321
Project Duration           : 13 weeks
Shift                                    : Days/varied, occasional weekends
 
Position Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist provides high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services using advanced imaging technology to support accurate and timely medical diagnoses. This role functions as part of the Diagnostic Imaging team, collaborating closely with physicians and healthcare professionals while delivering patient-centered care in a hospital setting. The technologist is responsible for producing diagnostic images that assist in the evaluation and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental protocols and physician orders.
• Produces high-quality sonographic images for interpretation by radiologists and other providers.
• Prepares patients for procedures by explaining exams, verifying patient identity, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Reviews patient medical history and clinical indications prior to performing examinations.
• Maintains accurate and complete documentation in the electronic medical record and imaging systems.
• Practices proper infection control, safety procedures, and patient confidentiality standards.
• Ensures ultrasound equipment is operated safely and reports equipment issues as needed.
• Collaborates with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to support efficient patient care.
• Participates in quality assurance activities and maintains compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Demonstrates professionalism and commitment to continuous improvement within the Diagnostic Imaging department.

 
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

• ARDMS credentials (or equivalent) in Abdomen and OB/GYN specialties required.
• Current unencumbered Oregon license in Sonography required.
• Healthcare Provider BLS required.
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
