Location                           : Hermiston, OR 97838
Project Duration          : 13 weeks
Shift                                   : 08:00am-4:30pm
 
Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist provides healthcare services by applying radionuclides to assist in the diagnosis or treatment of medical conditions. This role involves performing nuclear medicine procedures and related imaging techniques to produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner. The technologist exercises professional judgment, adheres to medical ethics, and delivers patient-centered care to ensure safe and successful procedures.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administers radiopharmaceuticals and applies radionuclides in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  • Performs nuclear medicine imaging procedures to generate diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
  • Operates and maintains nuclear medicine imaging equipment, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Exercises sound professional judgment during all procedures.
  • Provides appropriate patient care before, during, and after procedures.
  • Assesses and recognizes patient conditions necessary for the successful completion of exams.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor consistent with medical ethics and departmental standards.
  • Ensures compliance with radiation safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately documents procedures, patient data, and technical details.
 
Qualifications
  • Active Oregon Nuclear Medicine Technologist License (required).
  • Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging techniques, and radiation safety.
  • Strong patient care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
