Position Details:
L&D Registered Nurse- Viroqua, WI
Location                           : Viroqua, WI 54665
Project Duration          : 13 weeks contract  
Salary Range                  : $60-$65/hr
Shift                                    : Nights 
 
Job Summary:
The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) provides specialized nursing care to pregnant patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period. The L&D RN monitors maternal and fetal well-being, assists physicians during childbirth, and provides education and emotional support to patients and families.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and document maternal and fetal conditions throughout labor and delivery
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed
• Assist physicians and healthcare providers during vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and labor progression
• Provide patient education regarding labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions
• Support and educate patients and families during the childbirth process
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and patient care standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide quality patient care

 
Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license of Wisconsin or Compact License
• Degree/Diploma in Nursing (BSN preferred in some facilities)
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and fetal monitoring certifications required
• Previous Labor & Delivery or maternal-child nursing experience required
