Project Duration           : 13 weeks
Shift                                    : 7:00pm-7:00am (Nights)
 
Job Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Step-Down / Telemetry RN to provide high-quality care for patients requiring intermediate monitoring between the ICU and medical-surgical units. The ideal candidate will have experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and patient-centered care, ensuring safe and effective transitions for patients with complex medical needs.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and post-ICU care.
• Perform assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize early signs of patient deterioration.
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy according to prescribed orders.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management, procedures, and post-discharge care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and adhere to hospital policies.
• Respond to emergencies and activate rapid response protocols as needed.
• Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced staff and nursing assistants.

 
Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license.
• ADN or BSN in Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum 1–2 years of telemetry, step-down, or critical care experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certification (required).
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Epic or other EMR systems preferred.
