We have Contract role Sterile Processing Tech for our client at Arcata, CA. Please let me know if you or any of your friends would be interested in this position.
 
Position Details:
Sterile Processing Tech- Arcata, CA
Location                           : Arcata, CA 95518
Duration                          : 13 weeks
Pay Rate                           : $25/hr-$30/hr
Shift                                    : Mon to Fri Days
 
Job Description:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role is critical in maintaining patient safety by ensuring all instruments meet regulatory, infection control, and quality standards for use in clinical and surgical setting.
 
Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments, trays, and medical equipment according to established policies and procedures
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and integrity; assemble instrument sets accurately
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (steam, low-temperature, and other approved methods)
• Perform biological, chemical, and mechanical monitoring of sterilization processes
• Document sterilization cycles and maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance
• Store and distribute sterile supplies using proper inventory and tracking systems
• Follow infection control, OSHA, AAMI, and Joint Commission standards
• Identify and report damaged or malfunctioning instruments and equipment
• Collaborate with operating room staff, nursing, and other departments to ensure timely instrument availability
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

 
Requirements:

• Certification and current TB clearance required.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret instrument manuals and departmental procedures
• Basic computer skills for documentation and tracking systems
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks
