We have Contract role Medical Lab Technologist for our client at Pagosa Springs, CO. Please let me know if you or any of your friends would be interested in this position.
 
Position Details:
Medical Lab Technologist- Pagosa Springs, CO
Location                           : Pagosa Springs, CO 81147
Duration                          : 13 weeks
Pay Rate                           : $40/hr - $42/hr
Shift                                    : 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM
 
Job Description:
The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs complex technical and analytical procedures across multiple laboratory disciplines, ensuring accurate and timely results that support quality patient care. This role requires strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and quality standards. The technologist may work in one or multiple specialty areas and is expected to maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines while upholding the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
 
Responsibilities:

• Perform technical and analytical laboratory procedures in areas such as hematology, chemistry, special chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, serology, urinalysis, coagulation, and phlebotomy as ordered by the physician or healthcare provider.
• Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests following established protocols and written requisitions.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Perform and document Quality Control (QC) procedures; participate in QC evaluations and corrective actions as required.
• Verify and validate test results, ensuring accuracy before reporting.
• Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Follow safety, infection control, and hazardous materials guidelines to maintain a safe laboratory environment.
• Participate in continuing education, competency assessments, and departmental training.
• Uphold all organizational mission, vision, and values in daily practice and interactions.

 
Requirements :

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field (as required by facility).
• National certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) preferred or required depending on state regulations and employer standards.
• Previous experience in clinical laboratory testing preferred.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and quality management practices.
• Ability to analyze data, apply critical thinking, and troubleshoot issues independently.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
