RN-ICU/PCU- Scottsbluff, NE
Location                            : Scottsbluff, NE 69361
Project Duration           : 13 weeks
Shift                                    : 3x12 hour shifts - day and night.
 
Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill or acutely stable patients requiring close monitoring. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care in a Level II Trauma setting, ensuring safe, timely, and compassionate care in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU/PCU environment.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, cardiac rhythms, and vital signs.
• Administer medications, IV infusions, and blood products per physician orders.
• Manage ventilators, invasive lines, and critical care equipment.
• Respond effectively to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) per hospital standards.
• Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and ethical standards.

 
Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Licensure: Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.

 
Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Preferred for Level II Trauma settings

 
Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU or PCU experience in an acute care or trauma hospital setting.
• Experience in a Level II Trauma Center preferred.
