Job Description:
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing acute illness or injury. The ER RN works in a fast-paced environment, delivering rapid assessment, intervention, and stabilization while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency treatments
- Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in status
- Assist with trauma resuscitation and emergency procedures
- Operate and monitor medical equipment used in emergency care
- Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and support staff
- Provide patient and family education with empathy and clarity
- Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Required Education & Credentials
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific or compact, as applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Room or acute care experience preferred
- Experience with trauma, critical care, or high-acuity patients is a plus
