Job Summary:
The Adult Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with a broad range of medical and postoperative conditions. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, care planning, direct care delivery, and ongoing evaluation to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of adult patients and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per provider orders and nursing standards.
• Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and respond promptly to changes in condition.
• Provide care for medical, surgical, and telemetry patients, including those with chronic and acute illnesses.
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, blood product administration, and pain management.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, procedures, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Document all patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Maintain infection control practices and ensure patient safety at all times.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Participate in unit quality initiatives and follow evidence-based protocols and policies.

 
Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of acute care experience preferred; new grads may be considered based on facility needs.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) preferred.
