Job description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical-Surgical unit provides direct and individualized patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. This role involves assessing patient conditions, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical setting
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
  • Develop and update individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in medical records
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards

Unit Details:
  • Medical-Surgical unit with approximately 13 beds
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5

Qualifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred, if applicable)
  • Previous medical-surgical nursing experience required

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks
