Position Details:
Access Coordinator- Philadelphia, PA
Location : Philadelphia, PA 19104
Project Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : 8:30am-5:00 pm
Job Summary:
The Access Coordinator is responsible for ensuring efficient and accurate patient access activities, including scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and coordination of patient flow. This role supports patients, clinical teams, and administrative staff to ensure timely and seamless access to healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient registration, scheduling, and check-in/check-out processes with accuracy and professionalism.
- Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and ensure all required documentation is completed.
- Coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times and support operational efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and clinical staff to resolve issues and ensure quality service.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Assist with data entry, record updates, and maintaining accurate patient information.
- Support the department with administrative tasks and customer service needs.
Required:
- At least five (5) years working in a healthcare environment, complex scheduling experience
- At least three (3) years scheduling experience
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
- Previous experience in patient access, admissions, healthcare administration, or customer service preferred.
- Strong communication, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with healthcare software, EMR systems, and MS Office.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
