The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Inpatient Adolescent Psychiatric Unit is responsible for providing compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adolescent patients experiencing acute behavioral health conditions. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes stabilization and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
License: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Certifications:
Experience: Previous psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience preferred, especially with adolescent populations.

- Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and support for patients experiencing behavioral or emotional distress.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, coping strategies, and discharge instructions.
- Uphold safety standards and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Certifications:
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) — Required
- ACLS — Preferred
- One of the following crisis intervention certifications — Required:
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
- MANDT
- TEAM
Experience: Previous psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience preferred, especially with adolescent populations.
