Job Summary:
The MRI Technologist is responsible to operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatments of pathologies and train additional MRI staff.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Selects appropriate imaging techniques via operator’s console and peripheral hardware.
- Maintains a safe working environment for patients and staff.
- Enters and monitors patient data.
- Image exams in a way as to accurately demonstrate required patient anatomy.
- Trains additional MRI staff and MRI support staff.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of MRI procedures and protocols.
- Assists receptionist in scheduling patient exams as needed.
Education, Licensure and Experience:
- ARMRIT or ARRT-MRI eligible.
- Current Magnetic Resonance Imaging license issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging, required.
- Two (2) or more years of successful work within a Radiology Department of similar complexity to the Clinic’s in the role of a dedicated MRI Technologist, required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
