Position Details:
Senior Software Engineer- Chicago IL
Location : Chicago, IL 60601 (Hybrid)
Role:
This role is for a full stack Senior Software Engineer on our Application Development team. The primary responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer are to lead the creation of business solutions by developing, implementing, and supporting Client’s products and integrations. They will be responsible for:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Collaborating with design teams and stakeholders to analyze and define product objectives, system features and
functionality.
• Lead activities to develop, enhance and maintain custom in-house web applications and modules that interface
to and augment the business systems.
• Performing the typical functions of the Developer role, but also puts together product concepts, architecture
solutions, creative design, rapid prototyping, and high-level, technical review/analysis of new technologies.
• Defining project technical design methodology and recommended toolsets to meet project objectives.
• Maintaining knowledge of current technology trends and how they can be applied at Client.
• Supporting team members by providing technical guidance on project software development.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology or similar Technical Degree preferred
• At least 5 - 7 years of hands on experience with MS web technologies including .Net 4.6+, C#, ASP.NET, HTML, XML, JavaScript and jQuery
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming and experience in applying latest design patterns
• Demonstrated understanding of solution architecture and design patterns
• Experience in web application development and deployment and development tools (e.g. GIT, Visual Studio team services and Powershell), ALM tools (Jira), testing, configuration management and deployments
• Experience with one or more database platforms (MS SQL Server 2012+)
• Experience in backend integration and usage of REST APIs
• Effectively communicates and documents technical architecture and solutions to internal peer groups as well as
other groups
• Ability to work independently, manage time across multiple projects and meet time-sensitive project deadlines
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• High-energy positive self-started individual with strong initiative and self-motivation skills
Preferred:
• Experience developing applications for SharePoint 2013/2016 using SharePoint Designer, Visual Studio including
experience with:
o SharePoint out of the box features for creating webpages, forms, workflows and App Catalog
o SharePoint Framework (SPFx)
o Custom development using SharePoint Business Connectivity Services, Master Pages, Apps, Page
Layouts, User Store, Web Parts, SharePoint Object Model (OM)
• Experience with Developing SSIS, SSRS SSAS along with Power BI and Crystal Reports in online and data
warehouse environments
• Knowledge of database design principle in data warehouse environments and logical\physical designs
• MS SQL development skills including performance turning, query optimization and design for the right indexing
strategy for data growth needs
• Experience with VB.Net and VBScript
