Job Description:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures under the direction of radiologists and in accordance with departmental protocols. Job Description:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures under the direction of radiologists and in accordance with departmental protocols. The technologist ensures patient safety, comfort, and privacy while maintaining efficient workflow and accurate imaging results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and department protocols.
- Position patients correctly and ensure appropriate coil placement for optimal imaging.
- Operate MRI scanners and related equipment, ensuring proper image quality and safety.
- Screen patients for contraindications (e.g., implants, pacemakers, metal).
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure comfort throughout the procedure.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and address any questions or concerns.
- Review images for quality and completeness before sending to radiologists for interpretation.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and imaging logs.
- Adhere to safety standards, infection control, and radiation protection guidelines.
- Collaborate with radiologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver quality care.
- Perform equipment checks and report maintenance issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- ARRT (MR) certification
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required.
- 2 years of MRI experience
